Data Scientist/AI Specialist (Remote, India-based)

2 months SoW (can be done part-time or full-time)

About the Company:
The company behind this project is a cutting-edge technology innovator specializing in deep tech solutions, including wireless power transfer and smart energy storage. Their mission is to drive sustainable, efficient technologies that transform industries such as electric vehicle charging, industrial automation, and consumer electronics. Their work combines advanced scientific research with practical applications to develop next-generation energy and sensing technologies.

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist/AI Specialist to contribute to an innovative project leveraging quantum sensing technology to revolutionize civil infrastructure monitoring. This role involves applying advanced AI and machine learning techniques to sensor data to enable unprecedented precision in detecting infrastructure defects.

About the Project:
The project focuses on using quantum sensors to dramatically improve the mapping and monitoring of infrastructure such as railway lines and roads. Traditional methods, like Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), have limited precision in detecting imperfections accumulated over time from use and environmental factors. Quantum sensors offer up to ten times greater accuracy, enabling earlier and more reliable detection of defects to maintain infrastructure health and safety.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop AI algorithms, machine learning models, and simulations to analyze complex sensor data.
  • Build robust software solutions using Python and frameworks like PyTorch for modeling and data interpretation.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including academic experts in quantum technology, to translate sensor data into actionable insights.
  • Participate regularly in team meetings to ensure alignment and project progress.

Candidate Profile:

  • Strong AI/ML expertise with experience in building end-to-end algorithms and models.
  • Proficient in Python and familiar with ML libraries such as PyTorch.
  • Experience or interest in working with sensor data and simulations is desirable, but deep sensor expertise is not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with scientists, engineers, and project stakeholders.
  • Availability to commit to twice-weekly meetings (1 hour each) with the project team.

A note:

You might not tick all the boxes above, but if you are strong in Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, PyTorch and/or TensorFlow) and can build AI algorithms, models, and simulations, we want to hear from you.

Join this groundbreaking feasibility study and help shape the future of infrastructure monitoring with quantum precision.
