Nonlinear Optics Engineer -

I am working with a client who is an international, mid-sized technology company specialising in advanced laser systems for research, biotechnology, and precision measurement. They are known for their innovation, collaborative culture, and commitment to high-quality engineering. Their customers include leading industrial organisations and globally recognised research institutions.

My client is seeking a dedicated and motivated R&D Engineer in Nonlinear Optics to join their research and development team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing innovative technologies and applying expertise in optics and laser physics in a dynamic environment.

Location: Munich
Length: 6 Months+
Rate: Up to €100 p/h

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and test complex laser systems for scientific and industrial applications
  • Develop and qualify prototypes, contributing to product designs based on customer requirements
  • Conduct long-term performance and reliability testing
  • Collaborate with colleagues in design, electronics, and software to solve technical challenges
  • Support production teams during the transfer of new products into manufacturing
  • Maintain and optimise existing products to ensure continuous quality improvement
  • Identify and integrate new technologies and suppliers

Your Profile

  • Master's degree or higher in physics, optics, photonics, or related fields; PhD or relevant professional experience preferred
  • Practical experience in optics and laser physics, ideally in nonlinear optics or diode laser development
  • Knowledge in at least one of the following: mechanical design, electrical engineering, or programming (Python, C++)
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German
