Role Summary

In response to ongoing project expansion and the evolving landscape of space data technology, my client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer specialised in image processing. This pivotal role will involve developing and integrating sophisticated image processing systems crucial to space mission success. It is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to cutting-edge projects that have a significant impact on space data analysis and satellite imaging, shaping the future of space technology.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key link between the instrument development team and the software pre-processing unit, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication
  • Lead the system integration of the image processing chain, aligning with specific mission requirements
  • Plan, coordinate, and support testing campaigns for the image processors, including defining test cases, executing tests, and analysing results
  • Oversee verification and validation processes for the entire image processing system
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure project requirements and standards are met
  • Contribute to programming, data analysis, and system testing using languages such as C++ and IDL

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, aerospace engineering, or a comparable field
  • Proven experience in software development within a relevant domain
  • Several years' experience specialising in digital image signal processing
  • Strong expertise in C++, with additional experience in IDL considered an advantage
  • Ability to coordinate technical interfaces and work effectively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Solid organisational skills and an independent, structured working style
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken German and English

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience in project management and handling complex technical projects
  • Familiarity with space mission systems or related industries
  • Knowledge of system testing and validation processes in aerospace environments
