THREE vacancies for junior/mid-level embedded software engineers have become available for an exciting, hands-on Autonomous Electric Vehicle company based in Sheffield.

After receiving funding, my client is looking to add multiple engineers into their arsenal. With the ability to advance and progress your skills, this opportunity is one which cannot be missed. Especially for the more graduate level engineers looking to get some commercial experience. And for the mid-level engineers to progress to more leadership roles.

What skills do I need to apply for this?!

The skills my client required:

• Degree qualified in a software-related discipline
• Coding skills in Embedded C (Bare metal/Super loop)

More desirable skills include:

• Experience working with real time processes on embedded controllers or DSP
• Electric motor control, battery management, vehicle control experience would be very appropriate
• Freshly graduated are encouraged to apply

I can do all the skills! What does my day to day include?

A successful candidate will be tasked with the following:

• Design and implementation of robust software for embedded high power electric drive components and integrating them into vehicle systems
• Developing software within a structured environment, adhering to coding standards and functional safety principles, and with full documentation and processes
• Control of electric motors, lithium-ion traction batteries and other sub-systems
• Management of multiple drives and batteries in a vehicle, and operation with the vehicle ECUs.
• Provide engineering support within manufacturing and to customers where needed, primarily remotely but occasionally on site
