Embedded Software Engineer - Hereford

Job title: Embedded Software Engineer
Salary: up-to £60,000 DOE
Location: Herefordshire

iO are pleased to say we have partnered with a market leader in safety critical electronics that are now looking onboarding an Embedded Software Engineer to join their engineering department

The successful candidate will be working alongside the current Embedded Software Engineer during a handover period in which there will be knowledge sharing around the position - giving you the chance to lean into your new role and keep the business moving forward with no drop in productivity.

As the Embedded Software Engineer, you will be;

• Working with multidisciplinary project team alongside software and hardware development
• Developing wireless mesh protocols that are integral to the main product range
• Creating detailed software documentation, test plans, test methodology and procedures

Some key skills and experiences required:

• C/C++ OOP coding experience
• 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers including ARM
• Serial communications experience. SPI, I2C, RS232, RS485 and TCP/IP
• RTOS experience
• Bug tracking software experience

Wireless technologies, battery powered/low powered experience and experience with basic control functions would be beneficial but not essential

This role is best suited for the candidate who is interested in working with challenging new technologies, and is willing and able to be in the office for the majority of the time (typically one day at home a week)
