iO Associates have partnered with a manufacturer based in Kent in the search for a Health & Safety Manager.

The company is undergoing a period of growth and will be moving into a new factory in early 2022. They design manufacturer and install their bespoke products all in house and they have customer throughout the world.

As the Health & Safety Manager you will be reporting to the MD and will supporting and developing the H&S function and you will be responsible for things like safety initiatives and improvements, risk assessment creation & review, training of staff on H&S critical matters, ensuring H&S policies and procedures are adhered to & regularly updated. You will have admin support from a H&S Officer too, so you can focus making improvements rather than getting bogged down in the paperwork.

You will be providing the direction of H&S to the management team, supporting them to improve the culture within the company. This will involve managing the budgets, ensuring everyone is adequately trained and chair all the H&S committee meetings.

The role would suit someone with experience in H&S and who looking to take on a new environments with an already established H&S system. You will have a commercial mindset and be confident in managing H&S driven projects as a result of business growth.

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • Hold professional qualifications, ideally NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma

  • IOSH Managing Safely

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong leadership skills to guide, support and motivate staff

  • A solid understanding of the key principals of H&S law

  • Proficient IT skills with strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project

  • Experience in a Manufacturing/Engineering environment

In return you will receive a salary of £40,000-£50,000 DOE for a 40 hour week along with a generous benefits package.
