Mechatronics Engineer

The electronic engineering department is looking for a versatile engineer (in electronics, computer science, mechatronics engineering) to integrate into their Mechatronics Team.

As part of the development of mechatronic systems, my client is seeking an engineer experienced in the analysis, evaluation, design and validation of new software, optronic and mechatronic components.

The areas covered are:

• Image analysis/video processing technology.
• Video distribution over Ethernet.
• Video compression technology.
• Latest generation optronic systems.
• Mechatronic stabilization technology.

Ideally, I am seeking candidates that can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Knowledge of software development best practices and standards.
• Knowledge of software architectures.
• Knowledge of the regulation of dynamic systems.
• Knowledge of low voltage electronics.
• Knowledge of power electronics.
• Fluent oral and written expression in French and English
• Work with rigor, proactivity and autonomy
• Work within a given schedule, deadlines and budget
• Have good analytical skills, critical thinking and good judgment
• Be able to work in a team

Assets

• Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN bus, Serial, ...)
• Knowledge of network/Ethernet stacks and the DDS standard
• Knowledge of the Linux operating system.
• Have worked with the Qt framework
• Have a pragmatic mind.
• Have previously worked in the defence sector or equivalent

Activities/Responsibilities

• Analyse functional needs and formalize corresponding requirements.
• Develop software solutions.
• Drafting and execution of test, integration and validation plans for software and mechatronic systems.
• Writing and presenting test reports.
• Validation of the performance of a system or a software solution.
• Technical supplier management.
