My client is a well-respect Defence company located in the Walloon area of Belgium. Following various projects being awarded, they are seeking a number of Hardware Engineers (both Senior and Junior) to join their team until at least the end of 2022 (from experience, this is likely to go on longer).

As part of the development of our electronic systems, I am seeking engineers that I can participate in the analysis, evaluation, design and validation of new electronic systems.

The areas covered are:

  • Implementation of requirements and specifications
  • Sizing and simulation of embedded electronic circuits (analog and digital)
  • Schematic design
  • Design PCB
  • Debug, test and validate the developed solutions
  • Development of low-level drivers for embedded systems in a Linux environment

Therefore, I am ideally looking for Engineers that can demonstrate the following skills and expertise:

  • Experience in electronic design (PCB)
  • Proficient use of ALTIUM software for schematic development and PCB layout
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI constraints related to PCB development
  • C programming and low-level driver development
  • Development in a Linux environment
  • Knowledge of constraints related to real-time systems
  • Oral and written expression in French and English
  • Eager to understand and invest in the system
  • Structured, rigorous and autonomous
  • Versatile and passionate about technology
  • Have good analytical skills, critical thinking and good judgment
  • Be able to work in a team

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with the Atlassian suite
  • Experience with MIL-STD military standards
  • Experience in VHDL / Xilinx FPGA development
  • IPC CID/CID+ certified
  • Experience with SoC systems and microcontrollers
  • PCB prototyping and soldering experience
  • Willing to travel on an ad hoc basis for assignments

Activities/Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design of embedded systems
  • Analyse functional needs and formalize requirements
  • Carry out the integration analysis of the electronic solution in the existing system
  • Develop the electronic solution
  • Participate in the development of systems test and validation plans and their implementation
  • Document the electronic solution (design justification, test plan, reports, …)
  • Apply current development standards and methodologies throughout the design of electronic components
  • Develop, test and validate the software interfaces of the embedded system
  • Keep abreast of the latest technologies in the field of embedded electronics development
