The role:
This role is a strategic appointment driven by ambitious growth and ongoing product development initiatives. As a key leader in the aircraft systems domain, you will be instrumental in shaping and delivering complex avionics and electrical systems for cutting-edge aircraft programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the future of aerospace engineering and to take a leading role in pioneering projects that set industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of a dedicated product delivery team, ensuring projects meet agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with across-system and aircraft-level teams to ensure seamless integration of avionics, electrical, and EWIS systems in compliance with aircraft requirements.
  • Oversee design progress, develop recovery strategies, and propose improvements to optimise project outcomes.
  • Define system-level descriptions including functions, architecture, and physical definitions, ensuring clarity and compliance.
  • Provide ongoing weight reports and performance updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Engage in technical change management and participate in regulatory and airworthiness meetings to ensure system compliance and certification readiness.
  • Identify potential technical risks and opportunities, establishing mitigation plans to safeguard project success.
  • Maintain active communication with multidisciplinary teams, influencing decision-making and driving solutions across complex projects.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Professional experience in aircraft development, with a focus on system integration.
  • Senior systems engineering leadership role, ideally within aircraft programmes.
  • Extensive knowledge of certification standards, aircraft system design, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience leading complex system development within a civil aircraft programme, preferably CS-25.
  • Deep understanding of aerospace legislation, safety protocols, and quality management systems.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to influence and motivate diverse, cross-cultural teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach with proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with integrated aircraft system architectures across multiple disciplines.
  • Knowledge of current aerospace safety and regulatory changes affecting system design and certification.
  • Familiarity with weight management and performance analysis for aircraft systems.
  • Demonstrated success in leading multi-disciplinary teams in fast-paced, innovative environments.
