ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - RAIL MACHINERY


Our Client, a global provider of rail technology, delivering products and services that support safe, efficient and sustainable transport networks. With decades of expertise and operations across multiple continents, they are known for pioneering approaches in rail system design and upkeep and they continue to set industry benchmarks.

Location: Hamburg
Length: 12 months+
Rate: Up to €50 p/h


Role Summary:

You will design and integrate the electrical backbone of specialised rail machinery. From schematics and hardware selection to commissioning, you'll ensure systems like drives, sensors, cabling, and control units work seamlessly. Working closely with mechanical teams, you'll contribute to new developments and upgrades, helping deliver reliable, efficient solutions for modern rail infrastructure.


Responsibilities:

  • Create schematics and technical documentation

  • Select hardware, manage procurement, and oversee assembly/commissioning
  • Develop cabling, sensors, drives, bus systems, and control cabinets
  • Support new machine development and upgrades of existing equipment


Your Profile:

  • Engineering degree in mechanical engineering, automation technology, mechatronics, or equivalent technical training
  • Several years of experience in electrical engineering
  • Knowledge of electric drives, bus systems, and common hardware platforms
  • Familiarity with circuit design tools such as E-Plan P8
  • Fluent in German with good English skills
