Project Architect (Contract) - London / Epsom

Contract: 6 months to start with

Location: London (Nova North) or Epsom office

Rate: Up to £45 per hour (umbrella)

Our client is a globally recognised, multidisciplinary design and engineering consultancy with a top-ranking UK architecture studio. Their London and Epsom teams deliver projects across the Transportation, Education, Commercial, Residential, Energy, Defence, and Public Sectors.

The Role

This role focuses on the design and delivery of railway and train station projects, working closely with engineers, technologists, and interior designers. You'll take ownership of work packages, from concept through detailed design, leading smaller teams and contributing to high-quality, design-led outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to the design of train stations and rail infrastructure projects.
Deliver work across all RIBA stages, from concept to construction.
Produce design documentation that meets UK Building Regulations and NBS standards.
Engage confidently with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
Support a collaborative studio culture and contribute to design reviews.

What We're Looking For

ARB Registered Architect (RIBA Part 3 qualified).
Proven architectural experience in rail and train station design.
Proficient in Bentley software (MicroStation / AECOsim / OpenBuildings Designer).
Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations, construction detailing, and compliance.

Desirable Skills

Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite proficiency.
Familiarity with Enscape or V-Ray for visualisation.
Previous work in the transportation or infrastructure sector.
