Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement automation solutions to optimise manufacturing and operational processes.
  • Analyse existing workflows to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation tools and systems seamlessly.
  • Troubleshoot automation systems, perform testing, and ensure operational robustness.
  • Document processes, create technical specifications, and maintain comprehensive records of automation projects.
  • Train and support colleagues in automation best practices and tool usage.
  • Stay abreast of emerging automation technologies and industry trends, recommending upgrades or new tools where appropriate.
  • Ensure all automation activities comply with safety standards, quality control measures, and company protocols.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proficiency with PLC's
  • Proficient in SCADA systems
  • Strong knowledge of automation tools, programming languages, and control systems.
  • Experience with systems integration and process optimisation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments with clear communication skills.
  • Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in automation, control engineering, or related fields.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and IoT integration.
  • Experience in project management and process mapping.
  • Knowledge of supplier or client automation standards and regulations.
  • Previous experience in an industrial setting within the coatings, manufacturing, or related sectors.
