My client, a food manufacturer based in Cheddar are looking for a Food Safety Specialist for an initial 12 month contract covering maternity leave with the possibility of going permanent afterwards.
In this role you will be working closely with a Technical Assistant, providing full technical support including things like management reviews, internal audits, non-compliances, concessions etc. You will also be liaising suppliers, conducting supplier approvals and ongoing supplier management, managing customer complaints, leading the HACCP and internal audit teams and designing and developing improvements to internal procedures.
You will come with minimum of 3 years industry experience in a supervisory technical or quality role, preferably in high care chilled food production and have a high level knowledge of food microbiology, allergen management, shelf-life analysis and finished product safety rationale.
You will also have:
- HND or degree in a biological sciences or food related subject
- Level 3 Food Safety in Manufacturing
- Intermediate HACCP
- ISO 22000 Lead Auditor trained
- Internal/ 2nd party audit experience, preferably with overseas audit experience
In return you will receive a salary between £28,000-£36,000 DOE as well as;
