Mechanical Design Engineer

£30,000-£40,000 Per Annum

Located in the UK's most exciting hub for start-ups and breakthrough technology, this design and manufacturer of scientific instruments is looking to strengthen their product development offering with the addition of an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer.

My client in Oxford work on very unique and highly complex assemblies that are used for an abundance of scientific companies at the forefront of their industries and are certainly not adverse to working with products that are used as cooling devices.

You will get to work on the next generation of high-tech scientific instruments and be involved in the full product development lifecycle from the very initial concepts through to seeing your ideas become reality in their in-house manufacturing facility.

To be successful in this role you will need to have at least used Solidworks at some point for 3D CAD designs and have a good understanding of the hands-on element to product design such as sheet metal, welding, turning, milling etc. Other highly desirable (but not essential) experience would also be machinery directives, PDM, 2D drafting, geometric tolerancing and exposure to working with scientific products.

Available for an immediate start, this position is offering a salary depending on experience of between £30,000 to £40,000 Per Annum, as well as 5% matched pension, annual bonus up to 8% and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).
