Business Intelligence Developer

Location: Fully Remote

Salary: £50'000 - £55'000

Are you a business intelligence developer looking for a new opportunity at a well-established logistics company? They're looking for someone with new ideas to come in and make an instant impact.

We're working with a huge British provider of transport and logistics and they're looking to add a Power BI developer with experience in Excel and SQL to their team. You'll be working with technologists and other BI developers to both report across KPI's and provide custom reports for HMRC.

We're interested in talking to people with the following combination of skills, i.e. data analysts / modellers that can take poor data, clean it and and turn it into something useful and attractive, whilst simultaneously improving processes

Required:
- Power BI / Apps / Automate
- Advanced Excel including Power Query: efficient formula / algorithm design, techniques for interrogating complex and irregular data, adherence to recognised modelling best practice e.g. FAST
- SQL: should be able to use SQL to extract data, ideally able to put together at least a basic database
- A problem-solving attitude, desire to improve the way things work, the ability to think around abstract problems and find solutions using some combination of these or other tools

Advantageous:
- A solid understanding of VBA, able to write an efficient macro from scratch
- Analytics languages esp Python
- Financial, consulting, logistics backgrounds
- Experience on Govt contracts
- Specialist techniques e.g. discrete event simulation
