It's not often that such a varied, hands-on technical lead role comes up in the market. I'm super excited to speak to Senior / Lead level candidates about the following role, so please reach out if you are interested.

My client, a consultancy with it's own internal projects and innovation hub for like minded start-ups, is looking for a Technical Lead to have a unique role with initial proof of concept and set up of greenfield projects with new and existing clients, as well as working on their internal product (think Alexa, but she actually turns the lights TO 10% not DOWN 10%).

Working for this company allows for the best of both worlds - you have the chance to have a client-facing role with household name, globally recognised clients on multimillion pound projects (wow). You can be hands on with JavaScript frontend technologies on external and internal projects, and you will be managing a team of both permanent and contract developers with skills ranging across the front and back end.

The role will see you mapping new projects and being involved with the initial set-up and proof of concept, meaning it's very R&D focussed rather than pure delivery of already existing projects. You will sit on a team coming up with each proof of concept together, then hand over to a team of dedicated contractors to deliver the project.

The role comes with a lot of trust and will see you having an almost immediate presence alongside the senior team, and gives you the chance to utilise all your technical, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills.

What experience would suit this type of role?

• Strong commercial experience in JavaScript, ideally React.js
• Backend development in ANY language (Node.js, Python, Java...etc)
• Cloud experience (Azure/AWS/Any!)
• Any consultant experience being a client-facing representative for a company
• Any management experience leading a technical team
• Any project mapping experience / greenfield experience
