iO Associates is looking for a Research Engineer to join a global, innovation-led technology organisation operating at scale, delivering cutting-edge products and platforms used by millions worldwide, where you’ll play a key role in translating advanced AI research into production-ready mobile and edge technologies with real-world impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Optimise and deploy AI models end-to-end on mobile and edge devices
• Profile and debug performance across OS, runtime, and model layers
• Evaluate deployment toolchains for latency, memory, and accuracy trade-offs
• Build high-quality software prototypes and experimental systems

Skills & Experience:

• Strong Python and Rust skills with solid OS, performance, and debugging expertise
• Good understanding of ARM architectures and ML/DL fundamentals
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience with C/C++, ARM64, and CPU architectures (desired)
• Hands-on on-device AI deployment and model optimisation (desired)
• Familiarity with secure computing and lightweight inference runtimes (e.g. ExecuTorch, llama.cpp) (desired)
