In this role, you’ll partner closely with the SmartFab team, Tool Owners, and external vendors to integrate cutting-edge equipment, deliver robust automation, and ensure stable performance once systems move into production.
What You’ll Do
Lead equipment integration projects from analysis and configuration to testing and onboarding within our automation ecosystem.
Support and maintain live automation systems, troubleshooting and resolving issues in daily production operations.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Tool Owners, Manufacturing IT, and suppliers to diagnose and solve interface challenges.
Continuously improve our integration methodologies, tools, and documentation to drive efficiency and reliability.
Strong knowledge of semiconductor factory automation and equipment integration
4+ years of hands-on experience integrating manufacturing equipment
Familiarity with communication protocols such as MQTT, RS-232, HSMS, and TCP/IP
Ability to work with structured equipment interfaces (states, modules, standardized commands, events)
Excellent written and spoken English skills
Eligibility to work permanently in Belgium
Solid understanding of highly automated semiconductor production processes
Knowledge of broader automation architectures such as OPC, station controllers, or message bus systems
Experience with Git or other version-control tools
Exposure to unit testing frameworks
Familiarity with agile development practices
Experience in:
IoT
SEMI equipment standards (e.g., SECS/GEM)
Java development
