Contract Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Role: Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Location: London or Manchester (Hybrid)
Length: Initial 6-month contract
Rate: £700-£725 per day (Inside IR35)
Clearance: Active SC clearance is preferred, or candidates must be SC-eligible

We’re supporting a major UK Government department that’s looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help design, build, and run modern cloud infrastructure at scale.

This role suits someone who is hands-on, delivery-focused, and comfortable working in complex, regulated environments.

Key experience

• Strong AWS background across modern cloud services (EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, etc.)
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• CI/CD pipelines and automation (GitHub, AWS tooling)
• Containerised environments with Docker and Kubernetes
• Linux/Unix systems and scripting (Python, Bash, JavaScript)
• Solid understanding of networking and cloud security fundamentals
• Experience working in Agile delivery teams

Desirable

• Exposure to Azure
• Knowledge of directory services (AD / LDAP)
• AWS or Kubernetes certifications
