DevOps Engineer

Title: Senior DevOps Engineer (Sole DevOps Engineer)

Salary: Up to £70,000 D.O.E

Location: London (Hybrid)

Our client, a well-established London digital agency, is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to take sole ownership of their managed hosting and infrastructure estate.

This is a business-critical hire. The successful candidate will be the only dedicated DevOps engineer in the organisation, responsible for all hosting, infrastructure, CI/CD and security operations across approximately 20 managed client environments.

Importantly, this role offers the opportunity to build, mature and eventually scale the DevOps function as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

Sole DevOps Ownership

• Act as the single point of accountability for DevOps and hosting
• Define and implement patching, lifecycle and security processes
• Establish documentation, standards and governance
• Release development capacity currently absorbed by infrastructure work
• Shape and evolve the DevOps strategy

Hosting & Infrastructure

• Manage private cloud and Azure-hosted virtual servers
• Configure and maintain Windows Server environments (IIS, .NET / .NET Framework)
• Provision and configure application servers in Azure
• Support Linux-based LAMP environments where required
• Optimise hosting performance, resilience and cost

Security & Compliance

This is a hands-on, infrastructure-led DevOps role in a predominantly Windows environment, requiring autonomy, accountability and strong client-facing communication skills
