iO Associates is currently partnered with a leading aerospace innovator seeking a Senior Fuel Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, integration, and certification of fuel systems for a groundbreaking new aviation program.
This is a rare, “clean-sheet” opportunity to shape the fluid systems and propulsion integration of a completely new aircraft from scratch. You will not be maintaining legacy systems; you will be defining the future of flight.
As a key member of a dynamic team, you will lead the development of fuel systems – from initial architecture to final certification – ensuring the highest levels of performance, efficiency, and safety.
7+ years of experience in aerospace engineering with a deep focus on fuel systems design and integration.
Technical Expertise: Mastery of gas turbine engines, combustion systems, and fuel distribution components.
Languages: Intermediate skills (B1 level or above) in French, and B2 level or above in English
Certification: Strong knowledge of EASA/FAA regulatory requirements and certification processes.
Tools: Proficiency in design and simulation software (e.g., Catia, Simcenter, or similar).
Leadership: Proven ability to manage technical projects and mentor junior engineers within a cross-functional environment.
Education: Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Design & Development: Lead the architecture and detailed design of fuel systems and subsystems, utilizing advanced simulation to optimize for weight and manufacturability.
System Integration: Oversee the seamless integration of fuel components into the aircraft platform, managing interface controls and supplier coordination.
Analysis & Simulation: Evaluate system performance, emissions, and operational characteristics under extreme conditions.
Testing & Validation: Define and execute rigorous test plans (ground and flight tests) to verify reliability and compliance.
Quality & Compliance: Ensure all designs meet stringent aerospace safety standards and participate in critical design reviews (PDR/CDR).
Leadership: Serve as the technical point of contact for stakeholders and mentor the next generation of engineers.
In the French aerospace landscape, the opportunity to work on a “Nouvel Aéronef” (new aircraft) happens once in a decade. If you are passionate about structural integrity, fluid dynamics, and cutting-edge innovation, we want to hear from you.
