Robotics Software Engineer

I am supporting a rapidly growing deep‑tech company in North Rhine‑Westphalia that is building unique unmanned robotic platforms designed for real industrial projects.
As part of an important growth phase, they are now searching for a Robotics Software Engineer who wants to own and influence the autonomy software stack from the inside. The ideal for an individual passionate about building physical robot systems!
The role:
- Own & review the higher‑level robotics software stack (ROS2‑based)
- Guide, challenge, and steer external autonomy software partners to ensure high‑quality deliverables
- Translate system‑level behaviour and safety concepts into clear, robust software requirements
- Conduct hands‑on testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting directly on fully autonomous, real-world industrial vehicles
- Lead efforts to reduce system complexity, minimise vendor lock‑in, and support the company’s shift toward stronger internal autonomy expertise
The profile needed:
- Background in autonomous systems or robotics software
- Working knowledge of common robotics software architectures, such as ROS2
- Experience working at the interface between software and physical systems
- Experience in industrial environments
