Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP ECC Belgium Payroll (PY-BE) Consultant to support a complex SAP HCM Payroll environment.

This is a specialist role requiring deep, hands-on expertise in Belgian Payroll configuration within SAP ECC. Candidates with general SAP HCM or multi-country payroll experience will only be considered if they can demonstrate substantial ownership of Belgium Payroll (PY-BE) configuration and support activities.

We are specifically looking for consultants who have spent a significant portion of their career working directly with:

• SAP ECC Belgian Payroll (PY-BE)
• Belgian payroll schemas and rules
• Wage type configuration
• Payroll functions and features
• Belgian payroll legal changes
• Payroll calculation troubleshooting
• Payroll year-end activities
• Belgian statutory and compliance requirements

Candidates whose experience is primarily ABAP development, SuccessFactors, generic HCM support, or multi-country payroll support without deep PY-BE specialisation are unlikely to be a fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the SME for SAP ECC Belgium Payroll (PY-BE)
• Analyse and resolve complex payroll calculation issues
• Configure and enhance payroll schemas, PCRs, wage types, functions and features
• Support payroll processing and payroll validation activities
• Implement Belgian payroll legal and statutory updates
• Perform root cause analysis of payroll discrepancies
• Support payroll testing, year-end activities and compliance initiatives
• Work closely with payroll stakeholders to translate business requirements into SAP solutions
• Provide functional and techno-functional guidance on PY-BE best practices

Required Experience

• Extensive hands-on SAP ECC Payroll experience
• Strong Belgium Payroll (PY-BE) specialisation
• Proven experience configuring payroll schemas and PCRs
• Experience with wage type configuration and payroll calculations
• Strong understanding of Belgian payroll legislation and statutory requirements
• Experience supporting payroll legal changes and year-end processing
• Ability to investigate and resolve complex payroll issues independently

Highly Desirable

• Techno-functional background
• ABAP HR debugging capability
• Experience working within support or managed service environments
• Experience supporting large enterprise payroll landscapes
• Previous experience working with European payroll customers
