Senior Propulsion Engineer – Turboprop Systems
iO Associates is currently partnered with a leading aerospace client seeking a Senior Propulsion Systems Engineer to provide technical expertise and leadership in the design, development, and integration of turboprop propulsion systems for a new aircraft program.

As part of a dynamic and innovative team, you will play a key role across the full propulsion lifecycle, from concept and design through to testing and certification, ensuring compliance with stringent aerospace standards.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, with a strong focus on propulsion systems (turboprop experience preferred).
- Proven expertise in gas turbine engines, propeller systems, fuel systems, and propulsion architectures.
- Strong proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, NX) and engineering analysis/simulation tools.
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics, aerodynamics, and propulsion system integration.
- Experience with aircraft certification processes and regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of turboprop propulsion systems and components, optimising for performance, efficiency, and manufacturability.
- Perform engineering analyses including thermodynamic modelling, performance simulation, and CFD to validate and optimise system behaviour.
- Support the integration of propulsion systems into aircraft platforms, ensuring interface compatibility and system performance.
- Drive testing and validation activities, including component, ground, and engine-level testing, analysing results and implementing improvements.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace regulatory standards and quality assurance processes throughout development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and programme stakeholders to deliver key milestones.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.
