Position: Automation Engineer
Pay rate: £37.00 p/h inside IR35. (Entitled to paid overtime over 35 hours at a premium rate - 25% Mon-Fri and 50% Sat-Sun
20% shift uplift for working shifts)

Role Type: Contract until Dec 2025 with an extension

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join the Manufacturing Technologies team at a leading aerospace organisation. This role focuses on supporting and deploying advanced automated machinery for the assembly of aircraft wing structures and sub-assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy and support automated assembly systems including Cartesian machines, CNCs, industrial robots, and cobots
- Define requirements for new machinery and develop innovative automated assembly processes
- Manage automation projects from concept through to implementation
- Provide technical support on machine performance, cutter/drill/router usage, and process improvement
Skills & Experience Required:
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong background in automation and/or robotics
- Understanding of aerospace production processes and REACH legislation
- Proficient in digital tools and data/statistical analysis (e.g., Minitab, Skywise)
- Experience with project management and structured problem-solving methods (e.g., PPS)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
