Azure DevOps Specialist - Energy Sector
Location: Remote (UK-based)
Contract Length: 6 months
Day Rate: £600 per day (Outside IR35)
About the Role:
We're seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Specialist with mandatory, proven experience working specifically within the energy sector to join a major cloud transformation programme. This project focuses on modernising legacy infrastructure and enabling secure, scalable operations across the Microsoft Azure platform critical to delivering reliable and sustainable energy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement secure, automated Azure infrastructure using Terraform or Bicep.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and YAML.
- Lead the migration of key energy sector workloads from on-prem to Azure.
- Manage identity and access securely using Azure Active Directory.
- Apply governance and compliance controls aligned with energy sector regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable cloud platforms.
- Drive best practices and continuous improvements across DevOps and cloud engineering functions.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure, Azure AD, Azure DevOps, and core Azure services.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or Bicep.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using YAML.
- Deep understanding of cloud security, governance, and compliance, particularly in regulated energy environments.
- Proficient in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or similar).
- Essential: Prior experience working specifically within the energy sector this is a strict requirement. Ideally, this includes cloud transformation, infrastructure modernisation, or operational technology (OT) integration projects.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
