iO Associates has partnered with a multinational medical technology company manufacturing medical devices and instruments to look for a Control Systems Engnineer. This position will focus on providing control system support to operational technology leader with cost reduction and process improvement.

Control Systems Engineer

Plymouth, UK

Salary upto £50,000 per annum.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain equipment software along with supporting documentation.
  • Plan, design, and implement enhancements to existing processes to boost productivity and efficiency while mitigating risks related to component obsolescence.
  • Innovate, design, and establish new processes to meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Recommend upgrades to control systems to improve equipment performance.
  • Ensure that manufacturing teams receive all necessary software, documentation, procedures, drawings, and parts lists included in the technical construction file.
  • Maintain and update site control system specifications and equipment standards.
  • Validate software and control systems according to relevant standards.
  • Assist Operational Technical teams with breakdowns and fault-finding issues.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Operational Technology Leader.

Skills and Experience:

  • Have relevant and practical engineering experience with either time served or a minimum of 5 years' experience with technical education (HND/HNC/Degree).
  • Experience in a related environment. Ideally medical device manufacture, pharmaceutical, automotive or special purpose machine building.
  • Experience of programming and fault-finding, PLCs, and servo-controlled equipment.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley, Omron and industrial robotics equipment would be advantageous.
  • Proven achievement with software, control systems and mechatronics in a related environment.
  • Able to generate and modify electrical drawings, preferably using AutoCAD.
