A leading UK water company is in the midst of a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programme. We're looking for an experienced Data Engineer / BI Developer to support the delivery of robust data pipelines, reporting structures, and SAP-integrated BI solutions that will enable critical operational and regulatory reporting across the organisation.

You'll be working in a dynamic, delivery-focused environment alongside SAP consultants, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders, with a particular focus on SAP BW/4HANA, Datasphere, and integration of water utility data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain data models using SAP BW/4HANA, CDS Views, ADSO, and Composite Providers.
  • Build and optimise ETL data flows from SAP S/4HANA, legacy systems, and real-time data sources (e.g. SCADA, telemetry).
  • Deliver robust BI reporting layers to support business-critical dashboards (Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud).
  • Collaborate with functional teams to understand regulatory and operational data requirements, especially related to OFWAT metrics.
  • Support integration and migration of data into SAP Datasphere (Data Warehouse Cloud).
  • Performance tuning, data validation, and process documentation.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or BI Developer on SAP S/4HANA programmes.
  • Deep understanding of SAP BW/4HANA, HANA modelling, and CDS views.
  • Hands-on ETL development experience using SLT, SDI, or third-party tools.
  • Proficiency in SQL, ABAP, or Python for data transformation & automation.
  • Background in utility or regulated industries (ideally water) highly desirable.
  • Experience working in hybrid landscapes (SAP + non-SAP systems).
  • Familiarity with reporting tools like Power BI or SAP Analytics Cloud.
