iO Associates is partnering with a leading engineering firm seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to join their Controls division. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in delivering cutting-edge automation solutions across various industries.


🔧 What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design and program PLC/HMI/SCADA systems (SIEMENS essential; Mitsubishi beneficial)

  • Develop electrical distribution, motor control centres, and PLC control systems using AutoCAD

  • Lead projects from enquiry/concept through to detailed design, FAT/SAT, and on-site commissioning

  • Produce comprehensive FDS/SDS, test documents, RAMS, and O&M manuals

  • Attend client and sub-contractor meetings, providing technical expertise and support

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in electrical engineering and control systems

  • Manage and deliver turnkey projects with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction


What We're Looking For:

  • HND/Degree (Level 4+) in Electrical Engineering or Control & Automation

  • Minimum 6 years' experience in controls engineering

  • Proficiency in SIEMENS PLC/HMI/SCADA programming

  • Solid AutoCAD design experience

  • Knowledge of BS EN 60204 and BS7671 standards

  • Experience in control panel/MCC design

  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Ability to produce and manage RAMS

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive team player


🌟 Desirable:

  • Knowledge of AC/DC drives and hydraulic systems

  • Experience with Safety Related Control Systems (BS EN IEC 62061 or BS EN ISO 13849)

  • Installation and commissioning experience
