Our Client, a leader in the medical device industry, is currently seeking an Acoustics Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. With a recent shift towards Renal denervation technology, this role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects with both mechanical and electrical components. Role Summary


As part of this exciting transformation, Our Client is looking to onboard an experienced Acoustics Engineer to play a pivotal role in driving the development and testing of new medical devices. This position is crucial for ensuring the successful integration of electrical expertise into the team and overcoming current challenges. The initial contract will be for a minimum of 6 months, with the potential for extension based on performance.



Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and testing of single-use medical devices
  • Collaborate with the team to implement ultrasound technology for Renal denervation
  • Utilize function generators and oscilloscopes for acoustics testing
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as IEC 62127 and IEC 61161/IEC 62555
  • Conduct beam mapping and radiation force balance methods for accurate measurements


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in acoustics testing within the medical device industry
  • Proficiency in using function generators, oscilloscopes, and hydrophones
  • Familiarity with industry standards and calibration traceability requirements
  • Strong understanding of ultrasound technology and its application in medical devices


Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience with Renal denervation technology
  • Knowledge of spatial-averaging corrections and bandwidth requirements
  • Familiarity with beam mapping techniques for precise measurement
