Microsoft Fabric Architect - Contract (Outside IR35)
Location: Remote (UK)
Rate: £600 - £700 per day
Contract: 6 Months (extension highly likely)
iO Associates are partnered with a rapidly scaling Microsoft consultancy offering an exciting opportunity
for a Microsoft Fabric Architect to join their growing data practice.
You'll play a strategic and hands-on role as the team establishes itself as an end-to-end Microsoft Fabric partner, designing and implementing modern data platforms that transform how enterprise clients manage, integrate, and activate their data. This is about shaping the architecture and best practice of tomorrow's Fabric ecosystem, not maintaining legacy solutions.
What You'll Do
- Architect and design end-to-end data solutions within Microsoft Fabric, spanning ingestion, transformation, governance, and analytics.
- Define data platform architecture and integration patterns aligned to Fabric's unified services (Data Factory, Data Engineering, Synapse, OneLake, Power BI, and Real-Time Analytics).
- Lead technical delivery, guiding engineers on ETL pipeline design, data modelling, and orchestration within Fabric.
- Develop reference architectures, frameworks, and reusable components that accelerate future Fabric projects.
- Advise clients on data strategy, governance, and platform modernisation using Fabric's unified data capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and client stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable, performant, and secure.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer working within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Fabric architecture, services, and integrations (Data Factory, OneLake, Synapse, Power BI).
- Deep expertise in data modelling, ETL/ELT design, and data platform governance.
- Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and modern data engineering practices.
- Strong knowledge of data lifecycle management, lineage, and best practice design principles.
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable architecture.
- Curiosity and passion for emerging Microsoft data technologies and continuous innovation.
If you're a Microsoft Fabric Architect looking to shape cutting-edge data platforms and deliver transformative solutions for leading UK and global brands, we'd love to hear from you.
