iO Associates have partnered with a cutting-edge company in the cleantech industry, specializing in the development of sustainable materials. They are currently seeking a dedicated Process Technician (Chemical/mechanical) to join their innovative research and development team.


Role Summary:

As a Process Technician you will play a crucial role in supporting the scale-up and industrialization of their advanced chemical recycling technology. You will be involved in various aspects of process development, plant design, and working closely with the R&D team to drive innovation in circular economic materials processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the scale-up of technology from laboratory to pilot plant
  • Assist in developing prototypes and testing new processes
  • Operate and monitor chemical processing units
  • Conduct regular inspections and record process data
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support mechanical process modifications
  • Prepare samples for testing
  • Create documentation including SOPs and training manuals
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • A-levels or BTEC in the sciences with minimum 5 years of experience OR HNC/HND in Chemical/Process Engineering with minimum 3 years of industrial experience
  • Industry experience in process optimization
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English
  • Passion for sustainability and circularity in technology
  • Located in or willing to relocate to the Bristol area
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments


Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in advanced materials or composites
  • Health and safety training (IOSH/NEBOSH)
  • Knowledge in polymer chemistry and chemical recycling technologies
  • Background in pressurized systems
  • Degree qualified in Engineering
  • Project management skills
