R&D Project Lead - Cross-Functional Engineering

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced engineer (10+ years) with a broad technical background across electrical, software, printing, and mechanical disciplines. This is a permanent role, offering the opportunity to play a key part in product development and project leadership within a growing organisation.

Responsibilities

Lead small-to-medium scale engineering projects from concept through to delivery.
Drive cross-functional integration across hardware, software, and manufacturing disciplines.
Manage R&D activities, taking responsibility for product development and lifecycle
Collaborate with industrial partners, suppliers, and institutional stakeholders
Conduct market and technology research to support product and strategy decisions
Leverage your professional network to support project outcomes
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers

Requirements

10+ year's engineering experience in cross-disciplinary environments (electrical, software, printing, industrial systems)
Proven project management skills (managing small/medium-scale projects)
Strong R&D or product development background
Excellent stakeholder management skills with industrial/institutional partners
Strong problem-solving ability and ability to manage complex technical systems
Fluent in English or German

Desirable

Ex-operator or military background with technical training
Previous experience in defence, aerospace, printing, or industrial technology industries
Familiarity with international defence/industrial standards

Package

€100,000 - €120,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Permanent contract
