Job Title: Senior Materials & Processes Engineer
Employment Type: 12-month AUG Contract with the option of a permanent position
Location: Oberpfaffenhofen

I am seeking a Senior Materials & Processes Engineer to join my client's international team in Oberpfaffenhofen. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and reliability of materials and processes used in next-generation space technologies.

Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering consultancy and technical risk mitigation for materials and processes in optical instruments.
- Assess material and process suitability for space environments.
- Review and evaluate manufacturing, inspection, and test methods for space equipment.
- Support technical teams in addressing non-conformances and proposal evaluations.
- Participate in technical reviews for future space solutions.
- Share expertise in metals and ceramic materials.

Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in Materials and Processes Control for Space applications.
- Knowledge of ECSS-ST-Q-70 standards.
- Proficiency in Metallurgy and/or Ceramic materials.
- Familiarity with soldering, brazing, or welding is advantageous.
- Strong interdisciplinary mindset and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills in English and German.
- Willingness to travel for business purposes.

Optional Skills:
- Experience in Optical Engineering, Fracture Mechanics, Quality Assurance, or Product Assurance in the space industry.
- Proficiency in French language is a plus.
