Title: Senior Performance Analyst
Contract Type: 6-month contract (Up to £650 per day inside IR35)
Location: Remote with occasional travel to London, Bristol or Manchester
Are you passionate about using data and analysis to shape better public services? We're working with a central government programme seeking a Senior Performance Analyst to play a key role in designing a contextual framework that will improve collaboration, streamline service delivery, and ultimately deliver better outcomes for citizens across the UK.
In this role, you'll help develop tools and taxonomies that connect services across departments, enabling benchmarking, knowledge sharing, and re-use of existing solutions. You'll work at the intersection of data, design, and policy, using analytics, automation, and large language models (LLMs) to unlock insights and support decision-making at scale.
What you'll be doing:
- Designing and developing a contextual framework to reduce silos and enable collaboration across government services.
- Categorising and benchmarking services to drive consistency and improve performance tracking.
- Developing analytical tools and taxonomies to support data-driven policy design.
- Applying advanced analysis techniques and automation to reduce manual reporting effort.
- Leading and mentoring others, helping to embed analytical capability across teams.
- Translating complex findings into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
- Driving continuous improvement in performance management, KPI frameworks, and data quality.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience in data analysis, performance measurement, and insight generation within a digital or public sector environment.
- Strong technical and analytical skills - able to extract, manipulate, and interpret data from multiple sources.
- Proficiency with a range of analytical tools and technologies (including LLMs, automation tools, and data visualisation platforms).
- Excellent communication skills - capable of translating complex data into clear, compelling narratives.
- Experience leading or mentoring analytical teams and managing cross-functional stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of data governance, privacy, and security.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset with the ability to work within constraints and deliver at pace.
