Technical Project Manager (m, f, d)
Location: Aachen, Germany.
Contract: Permanent, full-time.
Salary Range: €70,000 - €82,000 per annum.
Home Office: Mostly onsite with 1-2 days per week from home according to project demands.

iO Associates is proud to have partnered with an innovative scale-up, specialised in the development of special purpose manufacturing process machinery. With machines deployed in Europe and plans for deployment in the US, the company are now seeking a Technical Project Manager (m, f, d). As the first member of the Project Management team, you will play a key role in overall strategy development as well as critical project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing technical projects from pre-Sales support through to deployment of high value production process machinery.
- Act as the central contact point between customers, internal engineering teams, and external suppliers.
- Support the Sales team with technical expertise, particularly in preparing quotations and defining customer requirements.
- Ensure smooth collaboration with design engineers and provide input on mechanical and process engineering aspects.
- Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and ensure successful on-time delivery.
- Travel as required for project execution, including initial visits of 2-3 weeks for US-based installations.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Mechanical, Process, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of experience in technical project management or system-level development for production and process machinery.
- Strong understanding of complex technical projects, with the ability to bridge disciplines (mechanical, electrical, chemical, physics).
- Skilled in project management methodologies, with hands-on experience in scheduling, resourcing, and budget control.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence across teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Business fluent in German and English is essential; French is an advantage.
- Willingness to be based in Aachen and work mostly onsite.
