Analysis Engineer - Stress

Hybrid in Bristol (3 days/week)

Up to £45 per hour

A Stress Analysis Engineer is required to work with a global engineering and consulting group specializing in delivering advanced solutions across aerospace, defense, automotive, and rail industries. With a strong presence in over nine countries and known for its expertise in aircraft interiors, cockpit systems, and mobility technologies, it supports sustainable and high-value engineering programs worldwide.

As a Stress Analysis Engineer, asked to perform stress analysis on composite and metallic aerostructures. The role involves independent assessment of design solutions, finite element modelling, and preparation of stress documentation to meet programme and certification requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct classical and FEA stress analysis on aerostructures, including strength, stiffness, buckling, and composite damage tolerance assessments.
  • Generate detailed stress documentation (reserve factors, justifications, certification reports) and present findings in reviews.
  • Develop methods, tools, and risk mitigations to achieve programme design and quality objectives.
  • Collaborate with local and remote teams to support design integration, qualification processes, and customer reviews.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of composite and metallic structural analysis, including wingbox and load interface design.
  • Proficiency with Nastran/Patran or Simcenter 3D for finite element modelling and post-processing.
  • Experience producing high-quality stress reports with minimal supervision and guiding junior engineers.
  • Ability to interpret design data (materials, tolerances, manufacturing processes) and apply solutions to technical problems.
