Job title: Contract Engineering Lead

Location: Hinkley Point C (Hybrid 3 days onsite)

Job type: Permanent

Salary: £60-70k depending upon experience

iO Associates are seeking for a Contract Engineering Lead to work with a consulting firm with broad expertise in asset management, construction, and engineering. They create creative and sustainable solutions for the built environment and significant infrastructure in close collaboration with their clients.

Buildings and Development; Defence, Security, and Aerospace; Energy; Logistics and Transportation; Nuclear; Manufacturing and Technology; Rail; Waste and Utilities are the seven main industries in which they assist their clients.

Required:

  • Degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong technical background in mechanical systems such as rotating equipment, steelwork, or similar, with the ability to assess and challenge multi-disciplinary engineering designs
  • Good understanding of construction and installation practices, Health & Safety legislation, and CDM regulations
  • Proficient in English (B2 level or higher), IT literate, with excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

  • Lead contract technical and project meetings, manage resolution of technical issues, and oversee review and approval of contractor deliverables and design changes
  • Coordinate the engineering evolution of the contract, including amendments, exemptions, and design integration, while ensuring alignment with project needs and site requirements
  • Collaborate with Responsible Designers, Client teams, and Project Managers to communicate progress, manage risks, support equipment qualification, and ensure delivery to safety, quality, time, and cost standards
  • Report KPIs to project leadership, support resource and budget planning, and contribute to team development by mentoring less experienced Contract Engineering Leads (CELs)
