About the Role:
Our client, a leading provider of advanced platforms and solutions for the energy sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial in developing and implementing a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the company's ambitious growth goals and stringent regulatory requirements.
As a Data Architect, you will play a key role in creating and maintaining a technology roadmap for data infrastructure and systems. You will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge data architectures, both relational and non-relational, that meet business objectives while ensuring high performance, scalability, and data security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architectural Design: Design, document, and implement event-driven architectures to support real-time data processing and analytics.
- Database Solutions: Develop relational and non-relational database solutions that are robust, scalable, and optimized for performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and data science teams to design data models and optimize data workflows.
- Data Quality & Security: Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data platforms, adhering to best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools to enhance the company's data capabilities.
- Leadership: Provide data engineering leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
What We Are Looking For:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in data architecture or a related role, with proven expertise in data governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., MSSQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (e.g., NoSQL, MongoDB). Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, AWS Kinesis) and hands-on experience with large-scale data warehouses and ETL platforms (e.g., Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, Redshift).
- Cloud Expertise: Demonstrated experience in implementing data solutions in cloud environments, particularly Azure (preferred), AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong focus on data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders both in the UK and overseas.
