About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our consultancy team on a 12-month contract, supporting a critical SQL-to-SQL data migration project for a major policing body. You'll be responsible for extracting, transforming, and migrating data from a legacy on-premise SQL database into modern SQL business systems, ensuring data integrity, performance, and seamless transition.
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our consultancy team on a 12-month contract, supporting a critical SQL-to-SQL data migration project for a major policing body. You'll be responsible for extracting, transforming, and migrating data from a legacy on-premise SQL database into modern SQL business systems, ensuring data integrity, performance, and seamless transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the SQL migration process from legacy on-premise databases to new SQL systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Ensure high levels of data integrity and performance throughout the migration.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any data migration issues.
- Document processes, technical approaches, and data mapping.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in SQL-to-SQL data migration projects.
- Strong understanding of SQL databases, data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
- Experience with legacy systems and on-premise to cloud migration is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, while collaborating with stakeholders.
Additional Requirements:
- Active SC clearance is essential for this role.
- NPPV3 clearance is desirable but not mandatory.
- Willingness to attend client sites in London on an ad-hoc basis.
