Embedded Software Engineer - contract

iO Associates are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to work on energy products for a 12 month on-site contract near Bern, Switzerland.

The role will involve working in an agile team developing, testing and maintaining embedded software for existing and new products- the developed products are used to protect and monitor critical rotating machines such as gas turbines, steam turbines and hydroelectric turbines.

Core responsibilities will be:

• Collaborate with team members in an agile development environment.
• Design, develop, test and document new functionalities of the software
• Troubleshoot system bugs and issues
• Provide support to customers

Required Skills:

• Demonstrated expertise with software development life cycles
• Very good knowledge in C, C++
• Signal processing
• Linux and real time OS
• Industrial protocols (Modbus, Profinet, etc.)
• Experiences writing drivers in Linux or real time OS
• Knowledge in Python
• Object-oriented design and notations (UML)
• Model based design
