Lead IVVQ Engineer - Space Electronics

12-Month Contract

Location Zurich

We are supporting a leading defence and space technology client in their search for a Lead IVVQ Engineer to join a cutting-edge space electronics programme. This is a 12-month contract (split into 2 x 6-month purchase orders) with a start date of 01 July 2025 (or sooner if available).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full IVVQ lifecycle for space electronics across various hardware models (BB, EM, QM, FM)
  • Define test setups using commercial and custom-designed equipment
  • Contribute to the design and development of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and electrical harnesses
  • Author and review Test Plans, AIT Plans, procedures, and reports per ECSS standards
  • Execute performance tests at board, equipment, and system levels
  • Perform requirement verification and root cause analysis for non-conformances
  • Automate test setups and data acquisition using Python-based tools
  • Coordinate with Systems Engineering and Design teams on testing matters
  • Conduct thermal and EMC testing to ECSS standards
  • Participate in mechanical (vibration/shock) testing campaigns
  • Occasional travel to support test campaigns at external facilities

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in the space sector
  • Strong hands-on experience with space electronics across all model types, including FM
  • Proficiency in thermal/mechanical testing and EMC per ECSS
  • Skilled in board-level testing using oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, and other diagnostic tools
  • Familiarity with system-level integration and debugging (HW/FW/SW)
  • Experience with automated test systems and Python scripting
  • Advantageous: DOORS experience and custom test software development
