3rd Line Support Engineer
Location: Bristol - Hybrid/Onsite
Salary: Up to £45,000

We're looking for an experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer to join a growing IT team and play a pivotal role in supporting, maintaining, and securing business-critical systems. Acting as an escalation point for 1st and 2nd line support, this role will give you the opportunity to work with a wide range of modern technologies while delivering projects that make a real impact.

What you'll be doing

  • Acting as the go-to point for escalated incidents and complex service requests

  • Managing and maintaining core infrastructure including servers, storage, networking, and cloud platforms

  • Ensuring IT security best practices are followed, including patching, vulnerability remediation, and access management

  • Administering backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Acronis and Azure Backup

  • Overseeing Windows Server environments (2012-2022), Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS and DHCP

  • Supporting and securing cloud environments (Azure and AWS)

  • Administering Microsoft Exchange and Office 365

  • Delivering IT projects from planning through to successful completion

  • Maintaining clear documentation and contributing to internal knowledge sharing

What we're looking for

  • Proven 3rd line / senior technical support experience

  • Strong skills across Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, Exchange/Office 365

  • Hands-on knowledge of Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms

  • Experience with VMware and Hyper-V virtualisation

  • Familiarity with firewall management, VLAN creation, LAN/WAN troubleshooting

  • Solid understanding of backup and disaster recovery solutions

  • Awareness of compliance frameworks (Cyber Essentials Plus, PCI DSS, ISO, CoCo)

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a security-first mindset
