iO Associates are proud to partner with a Food Manufacturer based near Burnley in the search for a Multi-Skilled Engineer. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly team, where you can expand your engineering knowledge within the team and progress within your career.
As the Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will have the opportunity to assist with the day-to-day repair and maintenance of the machinery, equipment, and facilities. The primary goal of the role is to ensure the production operations are running peak efficiency.
Main tasks:
- Maintain and improve PPM schedules.
- Opportunity to attend breakdowns, fault find and rectify to minimize machinery downtime (mechanical, electrical and pneumatics).
- Autonomy to fit breakdowns where possible and escalate when an external contractor is needed.
- Ensure the machinery and equipment are safe to use at all times.
- Opportunity to liaise with heads of departments, regarding installation of new equipment and ensuring relevant paperwork is completed.
- Manage external contractors onsite for repairs and servicing, ensuring all contractors fill in required paperwork and are following correct procedures.
- Assist the production team in disassembling certain equipment required for cleaning.
You will need:
- 2+ years experience working within an FMCG Manufacturer (Food & Beverage is desirable)
- Apprentice time served or Formal Engineering Qualification
- Track record in Electrical fault finding/basic installation
- Self-motivated, have a desire to learn and innovative thinking.
- Experience working with PLCs - Fault finding essential, programming desirable
- TIG Welding skills
- Electrical / Mechanical / Pneumatic knowledge
You will be working a rotating shift pattern of 07:00 - 3:30 Monday to Friday and then the following week 15:30 to 02:00 Monday to Thursday. In return for this, you will receive a salary of £42,000 - £45,000 (DOE) alongside some great benefits such as 26 days holiday (plus bank holidays), pension contribution, life assurance, Medicash plan and wellbeing initiatives throughout the year!
