RAILWAY PROJECT ENGINEER

Location: Munich
Contract Length: 12 Months (with possibility of permanent employment)
Rate: Up to €80 per hour

I'm working with a client based in Munich who specialises in cutting-edge railway technologies and high-impact infrastructure projects. They're currently looking for a Project Engineer to join their growing team and play a key role in delivering innovative solutions in signalling and train safety systems.

This is a 12-month contract position with the potential for permanent employment after the initial term, ideal for professionals looking to make a meaningful impact in the rail sector while exploring long-term career opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Define optimal technical solutions and support proposal preparation
Specify, track, and test hardware/software development packages
Coordinate technical requirements with internal teams and clients
Monitor project KPIs and ensure objectives are met
Manage work packages, ensuring timely delivery within budget
Maintain project plans, manage risks and changes
Communicate project objectives and oversee technical activities

Your Profile:

Fluent in German (C1-C2) and English (C1)
Minimum 3 years of experience as a project engineer or team lead
Degree in electrical engineering, electronics, computer science, or similar
Strong knowledge of German railway signalling and control systems
At least 3 years in the railway sector
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience in engineering project planning and risk/resource management
Ideally familiar with software development processes and tools like Primavera
Expertise in rail transport, telecommunications, or electrical engineering is desirable
Experience in system architecture and leading engineering teams
Knowledge of bid preparation
