I'm looking for a Lead Platform Engineer (SFIA 5) with Active SC Clearance for an exciting project within a Public Sector organisation. This is a hands-on technical role where you'll work with modern cloud services, automation tools, and traditional infrastructure, helping to shape and improve the systems that underpin the organisation's mission.

You don't need to tick every box from day one - what matters most is strong engineering foundations, a willingness to learn, and the drive to mentor others.

Rate: Up to £650 / day Inside IR35

Location: London (1-2 days / week)

Contract Lenth: 6 Months (+ extensions)

Responsibilities -

Take ownership of engineering improvements across a diverse technology stack - from complex cloud-hosted applications with IaC and CI/CD automation, to on-premise VM-based systems.
Lead, mentor, and collaborate with engineers in your team and across other technology areas.
Apply a "security-first" mindset and promote high-quality, automated testing in everything you do.

Requirements -

Essential experience:

Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting solutions in Azure
Strong practical knowledge of GitHub Actions, Terraform and PowerShell scripting
A collaborative leader, comfortable mentoring junior engineers
Strong communicator with excellent documentation skills
Ability to manage complex workloads with professionalism and organisation

Desirable experience:

Working knowledge of SQL and Azure Monitoring
Development experience with C# and SQL Server
