Senior Manager/Director - Technology Risk (Fully Remote, UK)

My client is an innovative and dynamic financial institution poised to revolutionise the banking industry. The are seeking a highly qualified, entrepreneurial and motivated Senior Manager/Director with a strong Technology Risk background to join the expanding team lead the development and implementation of robust technology risk management.
Position Overview:
As the Senior Manager/Director of Technology Risk and Cybersecurity, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and resilience of the bank's technology infrastructure and operations. Reporting directly to the Head of Operation and Technology Risk, you will be responsible for leading the second line of defence in managing technology risks, cybersecurity, alongside information security policies and governance.
Key Requirements:
- Excellent working knowledge of control environments with a proven understanding of technology and information security risks.
- Focus on the bank's cybersecurity strategy, particularly on threat prevention, detection, incident response, and recovery.
- Collaborate closely with the technology and operations team to ensure that security measures are integrated into the bank's systems and processes from the ground up.
- Provide guidance and oversight in the development, implementation, and maintenance of information security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Identify potential weaknesses and gaps in the bank's technology infrastructure and communicate with confidence to the wider team.
- Foster a culture of security awareness and compliance among bank employees, promoting a strong security-first mindset.
- Prove that you have a strong understanding of operational resilience (including technology aspects and how it impacts on service availability, continuity, change, suppliers, incident capacity and cyber event resilience)
- Familiarity with coding languages such as Python/SQL/Java script and the related change management oversight of the test and production environment.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in the financial services sector, particularly in banking or fintech, is an advantage. Coming from a start up environment is significantly more advtantageous
