Senior Mechanical Designer

My client are looking to hire an Engineer in Mechanical design for high pressure components within their research and development team. For this role you must be a Team player who thrives on responsibility and has excellent negotiating and analytical skills.

What you will be doing :-

• You will be in charge of the development and design of both mechanical and mechatronic components in these areas -
• hydraulics (power steering, engine and gearbox actuation)
• pedals and steering column
• brake system
• fuel tank
• cooling systems
• high pressure gas/hydrogen systems
• Responsible for the project lifecycle which includes concept, design and prototyping tests
• Required to produce designs and drawings which will be documented in English
• Ensure projects are delivered in time and within agreed cost limits

What you need:-

• Degree in Engineering, Automotive or Mechanical preferred
• 2 years of experience within the design of component within motorsport
• Excellent design skills paired with good knowledge of design technology and materials
• Show knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Show relevant experience of motorsport parts layout and the design of high performance components such as those in the area of F1, WEC, GT3, GT4, Rally or DTM

• Experience with packaging and designing of high performance components and storage systems for hydrogen
• Confidence in use and knowledge of high pressure components for gas/hydrogen systems
• Proficient with CATIA V5 regarding solid modelling, surfacing & drafting, FEM and the classical calculation methods
• have knowledge of Teamcenter and MS Office
• Sound knowledge of English on a professional level
