Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our team in designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical software solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role - you will guide the team strategically while actively contributing to the development process through coding, technical design, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven leadership skills, thriving in the rigorous, regulated environment of pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
Take a hands-on role in software development, including coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, and technical architecture.
Oversee the design, testing, and deployment of proprietary software systems that support manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
Ensure all software solutions comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and industry regulations.
Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for software initiatives.
Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent.
Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, QA, and IT teams.
Requirements
Fluent German (C1 or above) and strong English communication skills.
5+ years of professional software development experience (preferably in manufacturing or regulated environments).
Strong coding skills in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or similar).
2+ years of leadership experience including hiring, mentoring, and scaling technical teams.
Solid understanding of software development best practices and project management.
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, GMP, and validation procedures is highly desirable.
