Systems Engineer - Embedded & Radio Systems
Location: Hampshire (hybrid working available)
Salary: Competitive + bonus + flexible benefits
We're supporting a long-established technology consultancy that's delivering complex engineering programmes across national security and communications. They're looking to hire a Systems Engineer with a genuine passion for embedded systems, radio technologies, and building small but critical components into larger technical solutions.
This role is ideal for someone with a couple of years' hands-on experience who wants to work in a varied and fast-evolving environment. Whether you're an early-career engineer or a self-taught radio enthusiast with a deep interest in software-defined radio, you'll find this team supportive, technical, and mission-driven.
**Please not, this opportunity will not provide VISA sponsorship and you need to be eligible for UK Security Clearance**
What You'll Be Doing:
Working with multi-disciplinary teams to design and integrate novel technologies across radio, cyber, and embedded domains
Acting as a technical lead or systems designer on cutting-edge projects - from proof-of-concept to full system delivery
Planning and supporting hands-on integration and testing activities, both on-site and in the field
Engaging directly with stakeholders to understand complex needs and translate them into technical system designs
Contributing to system validation, risk analysis, and engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Supporting internal R&D and shaping future product and platform designs
What They're Looking For:
A background in systems or embedded engineering - 2+ years of experience is enough if you have the right mindset
Curiosity about RF systems, SDRs, or amateur radio - even as a hobby or side project
An understanding of how different hardware/software components work together at a system level
Familiarity with embedded platforms (ARM, microcontrollers), firmware, or electronic systems
An interest in national security, critical infrastructure, or defence technologies
Eligible for high-level UK security clearance (British citizen, resident in UK for 10+ years)
Why Join?
Flexi-time and hybrid working available
Annual performance-based bonus
Private healthcare (including pre-existing conditions)
Buy/sell holiday scheme and long-term share save plans
A collaborative, innovation-focused team working on meaningful tech
If you're a hands-on engineer with a fascination for how embedded and radio technologies come together, this is a rare opportunity to be part of a growing technical team tackling real-world problems.
